A program for sensitizing, educating, and mobilizing men to become advocates and actors against gender-based violence and for gender equality in their communities.

This sub-component focuses on developing male advocates for gender equality and for the elimination of gender-based violence.

GWAVE MEN'S PROGRAM

LAKBANA (lalaking may pagpakabana)

A network of concerned volunteer men who understand the pressures experienced by fellow men. They talk to men and listen to their sentiments, frustrations, challenges, and plans regarding their relationship.

MAVA (Men against violence in Amlan, Inc.)

An LGU accredited program in Amlan that started in 2007. Promotes gender equality, positive masculinity, and active participation of men in Amlan through seminar, training, and advocacy activities to increase awareness and responsiveness on gender-based violence of the community.

AMEGA (Ayoquitan men for gender awareness, Inc.)

An LGU accredited program in San Jose that started in 2018 that promotes gender equality, positive masculinity, and active participation of men in San Jose through seminars, training, and advocacy activities to increase awareness and responsiveness on gender-based violence of the community.

SUGA (Sibulan Unified Gender Advocates, Inc.)

An LGU accredited program in Sibulan that started in 2015 that promotes gender equality, positive masculinity, and active participation of men in San Jose through seminars, training, and advocacy activities to increase awareness and responsiveness on gender-based violence of the community.

TAGAD (Teen Advocates for Gender Awareness in Dumaguete)

A youth organization that started in 2015 that is accredited by the national youth commission and is a member of the local youth development council of Dumaguete City. The group promotes gender equality, positive masculinity, and active participation of young men in Dumaguete city through seminars, training, and advocacy activities to increase awareness and responsiveness on gender-based violence of the community.

AGENTS (Advocates for Gender Equality and Non-violence through Synergy)

An established pool of trained male facilitators equipped with knowledge on gender issues and the skills to conduct workshops with men in community. LGUs, the academe, men’s organization and other networks. The modules of seminars and training that are facilitated consist of gender awareness training, positive masculinity, violence against women, laws on violence against women and reproductive health training.
